Centering on the story of a desperado in search of the meaning of life, it doesn't take long for 'The Dance of Life' to transport us into a fascinating and exotic world filled with flamenco guitarists and tango dancers alike. Interestingly enough, it is the meeting of these very same characters that provides the salvation the story's narrator is so desperately in need of; a meeting with a certain mysterious dancer provides him with the very perspective he has been chasing all along. One might even say that 'El Baile De La Vida' deals with the attraction between two apparent opposites; the unity between the cold and contemplating desperado and a passionate woman capable of freeing him from his own self speaks greatly to the imagination. In a sense, it very much represents a unique and yet classic story of how the meeting of two very different minds can change the life-perspectives of both for the better. Whilst its verses are centered around the struggle of the story's troubled protagonist, the female voices echoing through his head throughout its recurring chorus remind him of this woman's life-changing influence; 'Siempre hay que luchar para encontrar / Aquello que anhelamos en esta vida / Hay que bailar, bailar, bailar'. Although she seems to recognize his troubled journey, her words remind him of a very simple truth; we are always struggling to find what we desire in life, but in order to find it, we must dance, dance, and dance a little more.
lyrics
They call him… El Dotado
Nobody plays pain like him
Desperado
Looking for his life meaning
Nothing makes sense, he stares at the bar ceiling
The smoke of cigarettes forms demons statuettes
He looks away at the dancers’ silhouette
Her curves numbs his nerves
Gives his guitar the care it deserves
You gazing at me? she said
Why don't you dance with me instead?
A step led to another ended in libido's hands
Wasn’t hard to understand that his heart not to be paired
Not prepared like a lone wolf crying to his moon behind the clouds
Like he married life without vows
(Chorus 2x)
Siempre hay que luchar para encontrar
Aquello que anhelamos en esta vida
Hay que bailar, bailar, bailar...
Time flies like water in a cascade
Life is still worth only a masquerade
First visit from a cousin after long lonely decade
The surprise weighed
His thoughts were greyed, his doubts were clayed
He was afraid of his dead heart blade
Shaking hands
Felt family blood is so intense
I am here to avenge my people dear cousin
The ruler incarnated our souls in the bricks of a prison
Got one liaison
Let's head south join the Revolucion
The clock skipped a second to give him a weapon
A possible life lesson
Like a sick tree with a healthy leaf
A widow smile after long grief
(Chorus)
Siempre hay que luchar para encontrar
Aquello que anhelamos en esta vida
Hay que bailar, bailar, bailar...
The journey to the south took time and place
A grin on his mouth like a hero with grace
He was amazed
Pictured his fate flag been raised
Smelled the vultures, blood, the gun powder
Human scavengers, the core cries louder
Runaway like a wounded prey
Reach a safe bay, where you can pray
God, I shed blood to know the secret
Everything I did, I regret
He spent nights in a hut, slept on a floor
Until wakened by knocks on the door
A figurine, looking for shelter
An uncrowned queen, his heart welder
Kissed his essence, gave it a new birth
Elevated his presence from Earth
Portrayed a realm of romance
He played guitar while she danced
His heart pumped significance
Unconditional love the subliminal existence
(Chorus 2X)
Siempre hay que luchar para encontrar
Aquello que anhelamos en esta vida
Hay que bailar, bailar, bailar...
Yeah, yeah
